Police: Man Kicks Out Cruiser Window, Escapes During Transport

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man with outstanding warrants was dealt an escape charge after his arrest went awry.

According to an arrest citation, police responded to Farilawn Avenue to arrest 29-year-old Raymond Stansell on various warrants. During a search of Stansell, drug paraphernalia was found to be in his possession.

Stansell was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Detention Center. However, during his transport he kicked the window of the cruiser out and fled from custody.

After a brief chase, officers were able to take Stansell back into custody.

He is facing multiple charges, including third-degree escape, second-degree fleeing or evading police, and probation violation.
