OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. (WAVE 3) — Two people are dead after a crash involving a semi and SUV in Oldham County.
It happened just before 2 p.m. Monday in the southbound lanes of Interstate Highway 71 near the Crestwood exit.
Police say the truck driver was going slow because of heavy traffic when the SUV hit the back of the trailer.
The driver of that SUV, 74-year-old Larry Doyle, of Crestwood, died at the scene.
His passenger, 73-year-old Joyce Doyle, was taken to University Hospital where she died a short time later.
No other injuries were reported.
