Louisville Woman Leaves Hospital After Being Shot 12 Times In Rampage

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18/WAVE 3) – The Louisville woman shot 12 times during last Thursday’s mass shooting at a downtown Cincinnati building has been released from the hospital.

Omar Enrique Santa Perez, 29, shot three people dead before he was killed during the morning rampage at Fountain Square. He was killed by police.

One of the surviving victims was Whitney Austin of Louisville. Miraculously, none of her organs was hit.

On Tuesday afternoon, an official with UC Health said Austin had been released.

Despite being struck twelve times, Austin is able to communicate and only suffered some broken bones.
