FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) – Governor Matt Bevin tweeted his condolences to the family of a Scott County Deputy shot in the line of duty.
“A Scott County Deputy was shot in the line of duty last night while helping federal agents. Please join me in praying for him and his family. #WeAreKY,” the Governor wrote.

The deputy and federal agents tracked the suspect to the rest stop on I-75 overnight. The suspect was killed in an ensuing gunfight.
The deputy remains at UK Medical Center.
