LFCHD To Spray For Mosquitoes After Batch Tests Positive For West Nile Virus

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– To help control mosquitoes, the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department will spray for mosquitoes from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. Thursday in the 40509 ZIP code.

A pool of mosquitoes collected Aug. 29 from a trapping station located there tested positive for West Nile virus.

This is the first mosquito pool that has tested positive for West Nile virus in Fayette County this year. No human cases of West Nile virus have been reported in Lexington this season.
