CARROLL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A fugitive wanted out of Florida was arrested by Kentucky State Police on Wednesday.

39-year-old McKinsie A. Lyons was arrested around 7 p.m. at a Valero Gas Station in Ghent following a tip on his possible whereabouts.

Officials say the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Lyons in connection to a burglary turned homicide that occurred in Florida on Jan. 24.

The incident resulted in the death of an adult male and a female, with the female being approximately five months pregnant at the time of her death.  This ultimately led to the death of her unborn child.

Lyons was arrested without incident and taken to the Carroll County Detention Center where he awaits extradition.

He was not charged with any new crimes out of Kentucky, only the execution of his extraditable warrant.
