LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Two people were sent to an area hospital early Saturday morning after being found with gunshot wounds outside of a gas station/food market on Lexington’s northeast side.
Police were called out about 5:45 a.m. to Nikel’s Food Mart on Paris PIke after reports that two people were wounded.
Witness reported hearing gunshots and then found a man and woman with gunshot wounds.
Authorities tell LEX 18 the two were taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. One of the victims reportedly was taken into surgery.
Police said it was unclear if the victim’s knew their assailant.
No one was in custody as police continue to investigate the scene.
