JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — It took over 3 hours, but firefighters were finally able to rescue a husky who got stuck in a culvert.

W.R. Castle Fire & Rescue was called out around 4:30 p.m. Sunday to a house on Sadler Drive after an 8-month-old husky got trapped in a 12 inch culvert.

Crews had to locate and uncover the culvert, cut the metal pipe, then locate the husky and perform additional digging and cutting.

With the help of Paintsville Utilities, they were able to get the dog out before the rain came.
