GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) -A whistleblower lawsuit has been filed against embattled Scott County Coroner John Goble.

Goble has already been indicted for allegedly stealing guns and ammunition from Kentucky State Police, alongside two others. Now, three deputy coroners have filed a suit against him with more allegations, including an allegation that he falsified death certificates.

The longtime Scott County Coroner has been in office at least 15 years. Three former deputy coroners claim he fired them after reporting serious official misconduct and ethical violations. They claim Goble falsified death certificates by labeling most causes as a “heart attack” because there was less paperwork required.

The eight-page suit was filed Friday. In it, it states that two of the former employees were ordered to unload cases of ammunition stored in Goble’s office.

The suit also alleged that Goble took narcotics from crime scenes as well as transporting illegal moonshine in official vehicles for political favors and votes.
