Coach Mark Stoops, Football Players To Be Honorary Pallbearers At Funeral Of 4-Year-Old

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) The funeral arrangements have been announced for the four-year-old boy killed in an alleged DUI crash following Saturday’s home game.

Marco Shemwell passed away on Monday after being struck on Cooper Drive. He was a preschool student at Flutterby Discovery Center.

During his services, Coach Mark Stoops and players from the University of Kentucky Football team will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Services will be at Noon, Monday, September 24, 2018 at Calvary Christian Church by Pastor Mike McCormick. Pallbearers will be Jim Gilpin, Bob Coburn, Darrell Johnson and David Shemwell, his grandfather.

A visitation will be held Sept. 23 from 4:30 until 8:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Calvary Christian Church, 15 Redwing Drive, Winchester, KY 40391 and/or Kentucky Organ Donor Association,   2201 Regency Rd # 601, Lexington, KY 40503 and/or Kentucky Children’s Hospital, 800 Rose Street, Lexington, KY 40536.
