(LEX 18)– A group from Kentucky continues helping people impacted by Hurricane Florence.
The Kentucky Baptist Association left last weekend to take a mobile kitchen to feed those in North Carolina.
The group is also helping people assess and clean up the damage in and around their homes.
The association’s feeding coordinator, Karen Smith, says in just one day they served 8,000 meals.
“It’s not just people running by and grabbing their stuff and leaving. They’re talking to us, they’re praying with us. They’re telling us things that they need us to pray for.”
The mobile kitchen group is expected to stay another two weeks while the recovery group is expected to stay through the middle of October.
