ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Firefighters found an innovative way to put out a fire Monday morning.

Fire officials in Anderson County used flood water to fight the barn fire on Rice Road.

Although the fire is believed to have started Sunday night, no one noticed the fire until Monday when the owner of the property got back in town.

A tractor was lost in the flames, but there were no there injuries or major losses other than the barn itself and about 600 rolled bails of hay.

At this time they’re letting it burn out and just keeping the rest of the area around it as safe as they can.
