Suspect Wanted In Dollar Store Armed Robbery

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Police in Williamsburg are searching for the suspect in a recent robbery.

It happened just before 10 p.m. Friday at the Dollar General located on Highway 25.

Officials say a black male wearing all black clothing entered the store and waited until all customers had exited before approaching two clerks. He then allegedly brandished a semi-automatic handgun demanding cash from the register and the safe.

The suspect ordered the clerks to an office located in the back of the store and then fled on foot.

He is described as a slender build black male 5’8″ to 5’9″ late 20’s to early 30’s with slight facial hair on his chin.

The suspect is armed and should be considered dangerous.
