SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WRIL) — An inmate who escaped from the Bell County Detention Center has been recaptured.
According to WRIL, Anthony Wayne Flanary was caught in Sevierville, Tennessee.
WRIL reports that a 911 call came into dispatch about a man at the River Plantation RV Park in Sevierville that may have had an altered mental state.
Once police arrived, they located Flanary behind the park in a river in his underwear.
After Flanary gave police his name, he was identified as wanted out of Bell County, Kentucky. He was taken into custody without incident.
On Sept. 21, Flanary was working in the lobby of the Bell County Detention Center cleaning the public bathrooms when he ran from the building.
He is being held in the Sevier County Tennessee Jail on a fugitive from justice warrant, which has no bail.
