Dispatch Accidentally Triggers Sirens In Woodford County

VERSAILLES, Ky. (LEX 18) – Put down your dog and ruby red slippers. A siren that sounded in Woodford County this morning was accidentally triggered.

According to police, the telecommunications department received a call for service. A dispatcher meant to send an ambulance but accidentally triggered the Emergency Alert System instead causing the sirens to sound.

Police apologize for the error and say they are working on a solution to avoid this happening in the future.
