WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– The eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 were closed for hours Friday morning following several accidents.

The first crash happened at about 1 a.m. near the 66 mile marker.

Officials say a tractor trailer heading east was driving slow due to fog. That’s when a car came up behind and rear ended the trailer, and slid underneath the cab

We’re told the semi driver is OK, and the car driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Shortly after, another car came up behind and hit some debris in the road from the first crash.

We’re told that driver is OK.

Shortly after the second wreck, another tractor trailer was heading east and didn’t realize traffic was stopped.

The driver swerved and hit a semi, causing it to crash into two more semis.

We’re told the drivers of those four vehicles are OK.

Fog is a factor in all the crashes.
