BARREN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Two Barren County women have been charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty.

Glasgow Police responded to an animal complaint at a home on Kino Eighty-Eight Road. When they arrived, they discovered several dead animals inside the residence.

The officers then obtained a warrant to search the home. When they returned, they found five dead animals and seized 11 others, which were then taken to an animal shelter.

Police charged 41-year-old Jennifer Graves and 22-year-old Breanna Sexton each with 18 counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals.

Under Kentucky law, animal cruelty only rises to a felony offense in cases involving dog fighting.
