CORBIN, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky State Police is seeking the public’s help after two people were hurt in a drive-by shooting early Sunday morning in Corbin.

Officials said troopers were called out about 4 a.m. to a home in the 11100 block of Kentucky 6.

KSP says someone in a Chevrolet Suburban drove up to the area and fired multiple rounds into a black cargo trailer. Two people were inside the trailer at the time, troopers said.

Officials said 31-year-old Curtis Helton of Corbin suffered a non-life-threatening wound to the leg.

Police say another man in the trailer was shot in the head. KSP said that person’s identity was not known and his condition was not immediately disclosed.

Neighbors in the area say crime and law enforcement activity are not unusual and they are concerned.

KSP troopers are now trying to find the Chevrolet Suburban that may have been travelling on Kentucky Highway 6. Authorities are asking anyone who saw the truck or knows who owns it to call KSP Post 10 at 606-573-3131.
