LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) LEX 18 has received multiple calls from surprised employees of the Hitachi plant in Harrodsburg.
The exact number of layoffs is unknown. The Mayor of Harrodsburg tells LEX 18 he believes the number of employees who have lost their jobs at over 100.
Several employees say they are upset because their medical benefits were cut off today, leaving their families in a bind.
LEX 18 has reached out to Hitachi and has not yet received a response.
Harrodsburg Police tell LEX 18 that they were requested as extra security patrol by the company, but no incidents have been reported.
