Lockdown Lifted After Unspecified Threat In Estill Co.

ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– The lockdown has been lifted in Estill County and schools are now being dismissed.

All schools were on lockdown after another unspecified threat. The Board of Education says that this threat was from the same telephone number as the previous incident.

There was no indication of any issue, but all buildings had to be checked as a precaution.

Schools are now dismissed.

The Irvine Police Department posted that they do not currently operate the School Resource Program, but they are aware of the threat made toward the school and that they have provided supplemental assistance to and have been in communication with Kentucky State Police.
