BOE: 2 Estill Co. Students Arrested For Threats

IRVINE, Ky. (LEX 18) – The Estill County Board of Education has announced that two students have been arrested following two 911 calls regarding shootings at the school.

The two threats occurred on September 19 and October 1 concerning a school shooting in progress. The calls resulted in a lockdown at the school in both cases.

The two students arrested were both juveniles and as such their names are not being released.

The Estill Co. Board of Education released a statement on their Facebook page confirming the news, “We want to thank law enforcement authorities who have worked diligently to solve this case. We would also like to thank our parents and community for their support during this time. As always, the safety of our students and staff is our number one priority.”
