ORLANDO, Fla. (LEX 18/WESH)– A Northern Kentucky man was shot and killed at a hospital in Orlando, Florida.
It happened Monday morning at at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Investigators say 33-year-old Brian Baker was taken to the hospital for a medical condition, and at some point, started making threats to himself and others.
The Orlando police chief said the man told hospital staff that he would “shoot anyone who came near him,” and said that “it was going to end right here today.”
Negotiators began working with Baker, but police say they could no longer negotiate when other patients needed immediate treatment.
He was ultimately shot and killed by three officers.
