LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Lexington Police Department said Wednesday afternoon that officials have identified a man caught on surveillance video pulling a knife as he’s confronted about stealing clothes.

Police spokeswoman Brenna Angel says authorities are searching for 35-year-old James A. Oakley Jr. of Nicholasville. A warrant for first-degree robbery has been issued in the case, she said.

Police say that on Sept. 17, officers were dispatched to the TJ Maxx on West Lowry Lane for a robbery report.

The loss prevention employee said a man was spotted leaving the store wearing pants, a belt and a white T-shirt for which he had not paid.

When the loss prevention employee approached the man, the suspect pulled out a knife from his pocket in a threatening manner and fled the store.
