Police: Suspect Offered To Buy Victim Beer Before Raping Her

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man is in jail Thursday morning after being accused of violently sexually assaulting a woman at knife-point.

Police arrested Gregory Roe just before 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

An arrest citation says that Sept.7, the victim and her friend were walking on North Broadway when Roe pulled up to them on a moped.

The victim allegedly got on when Roe offered to buy her beer.

The citation says they later ended up inside an SUV, where Roe allegedly assaulted the victim and forced her to perform sex acts while holding a knife to her.

Roe faces several charges including rape and sodomy.
