CLARK COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A 183-foot-tall mural will be unveiled this weekend at the Clark County Child Development Community Center in Winchester.

The faces of 15 local children will be featured, including 4-year-old Marco Shemwell, who was hit and fatally injured by a vehicle on Cooper Drive last month.

Dani Greene is the talented artist creating the mural which displays playful expressions of the children, creating a youthful vibe. The kids will go to the Child Development Community Center.

The children painted in the mural won a local contest.

Bo Harris is a co-owner of the center and after the recent passing of Marco Shemwell, who was a Winchester boy, he wanted to add Shemwell’s face to the mural. He reached out to the Shemwells.

“They were all onboard. They were loving the fact that they were going to put him on the wall,” said Harris.

You can donate to the Child Development Center here.

You can see the finished mural at the Center’s Block Party this Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
