KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man accused in a deadly Knox County shooting was extradited back to Kentucky.

Troopers say that the incident stemmed from car troubles. Investigators said that Glenn Edwards’ truck got stuck in Glenn Powell’s driveway on Higgins Hollow Road last week. Edwards left to get help and when he returned with another man, Powell told them to leave, according to KSP.

KSP said that Powell then went inside and grabbed a weapon. Investigators said that Edwards stayed while the other man left and that’s when Powell shot Edwards in the back.

A short time later, the other man came back and Powell fired at him. That man shot Powell, hitting him in the stomach.

Powell was released from the Univesity of Tennessee Medical Center and was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center in Tennessee. He was lodged for the murder of Glenn Edwards and was awaiting extradition.

On Tuesday, October 9, Powell was extradited back to Kentucky and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center in Barbourville, Kentucky.

No other charges have been filed in this case.
