UPDATE: Williamsburg Man Killed, Lexington Man Injured In Corbin Crash

CORBIN, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Williamsburg man was killed and a Lexington man was injured Wednesday morning in crash in Corbin.

Authorities say 40-year-old Mitchell T. Shelton of Williamsburg was driving a 2002 Chevrolet 7500 commercial vehicle when his vehicle struck a 2016 Kenworth commercial vehicle driven by 57-year-old Larry W. Lyle of Lexington.

Kentucky State Police say the crash happened about 9 a.m. on Kentucky Highway 3041 in Whitley County.

Officials with the Whitney County Coroner’s Office pronounced Shelton dead at the scene.

Lyle was injured and flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. His condition was not disclosed.

KSP is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
