LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department is offering free flu shots Thursday.
Health officials are urging everyone to get their flu shot, in wake of Lexington’s first confirmed flu-related death this week.
We’re told the victim was in their 60s.
According to the CDC, the US had 80,000 flu related deaths last flu season.
325 of those deaths were in Kentucky, and 27 were in Lexington.
Free vaccinations will be available between noon and 6 p.m. at 650 Newtown Pike.
