JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WKTV)– A local fire chief’s keen eye may have saved a home from being destroyed by fire in Johnson County.

Deputy Chief Brian Jeffiers was driving on Kentucky Route 1559 on Wednesday when he noticed smoke coming from a home just off US 23 in Wittensville.

Jeffiers took a closer look, and found the house was on fire.

Local fire crews responded and found the fire in the wall near the breaker box.

They were able to contain the fire, but the home does have significant smoke damage.

No one was hurt.
