LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police arrested a Lexington man who they say robbed and assaulted a taxi driver back in June.

Authorities say 39-year-old Steven Lamont Connor was arrested Friday after an extensive investigation.

According to an arrest citation, the taxi driver was waiting for a fare in the early morning hours of June 30 near Dakota and 7th streets on the city’s northeast side.

Police said a woman, identified as Raena Washington, approached the taxi driver and propositioned sexual activity. According to the citation, Washington struck the driver several times in the face after he declined.

According to the citation, after the taxi driver threatened to call police, Connor took the man’s phone, punched him multiple times and kicked him after he fell to the ground.

Police say the taxi driver’s stolen phone was pawned the following day at the Walmart on 2350 Gray Lag Way.

Authorities said the taxi driver later was able to pick Connor out of a photo lineup.
