LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – Despite a warning from Lexington police, drivers across Lexington were frustrated by significant delays across the city.

Several major roads and overpasses were blocked off due to the presidential motorcade that took President Trump from Blue Grass Airport to Richmond, Ky.

Calls began coming into the newsroom around the time Air Force One landed Saturday afternoon.  Several main roads, including Man o’ War, and sections of Tates Creek and Harrodsburg Road were closed.

Lexington Police warned earlier in the week that traffic would be heavy during the event.

Drivers should expect similar traffic restrictions as the motorcade heads back to the airport following President Trump’s speech.
