LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington police arrested a man in connection with a shooting early Monday morning in the parking lot of a local strip club.
Authorities said 24-year-old Austin D. Schooler was taken into custody and charged with first-degree assault in the case.
Officials said police were called out about 7:15 to the parking lot of Platinum Dolls, 1101 E. New Circle Road, where they found a male victim with a gunshot wound.
Earlier, police described the victim as a white male, possibly in his 30s, and said he had been shot in the face.
Police said the man was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities said the case remains under investigation and urge anyone with information to call Lexington Police at 859-258-3600.
Schooler was being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.
