LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man is facing a wanton endangerment charge after his infant reportedly overdosed on oxycodone.

According to an arrest citation, a 9-month-old was admitted to the Georgetown Hospital Emergency Room with signs and symptoms of ingesting a drug.

The citation goes on to say that the infant was given three doses of Narcan, which improved her condition. A urine toxicology test was conducted and came back positive for oxycodone.

She was later transferred to UK Hospital.

28-year-old Dion Tyrell Johnson, the infant’s father, and the infant’s mother were interviewed by police about the incident.

Johnson’s arrest citation says he later admitted to his social worker that his daughter was under his watch at the time and the mother was at work. Johnson also told her that he did use oxycodone on occasion and he “somehow must have dropped the pill, or it fell out of my [his] pocket.”

Johnson was arrested and is facing one charge of first-degree wanton endangerment.
