LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police in tactical gear surrounded a mobile home Monday morning on Lexington’s far north side where they said a man had barricaded himself with two children.
Lexington police were called out to a home at the Maple Grove Mobile Park on Georgetown Road.
Authorities said a domestic dispute between the man and his wife spilled out outdoors where an altercation took place inside a car parked in front of a trailer.
Police said the man barricaded himself inside the home. The wife told police their children were inside.
The barricade situation ended peacefully around 12:30 p.m. The man came out without incident and was taken into custody. The children were found in the residence, unharmed.
Police say his name is Travis Himes. Himes,31, was transported to the hospital with minor, self-inflicted injuries police say he received before contact with officers.
He is charged with assault 4th-degree domestic violence, and three counts of terroristic threatening.
