LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man was arrested Sunday following a multi-state chase on I-75.
Police say 39-year-old Stephen George Williams, of Killeen, TX, was heading south near mile marker 29 when he started shooting into vehicles. Three were hit.
A Whitley County deputy started pursuing Williams and followed him into Tennessee.
Williams got into crash at mile marker 134, which is the exit for LaFollette/Jacksboro in Campbell County.
Police say they aren’t sure why he did it, or what he was doing in Kentucky.
Kentucky State Police has opened a case for attempted murder.
In Tenn., Williams is facing multiple charges, including felony evading, speeding, DUI, reckless endangerment, and domestic assault.
