LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man who allegedly beat his wife, then locked himself in a home leading to a standoff, pleaded not guilty to his charge in court Tuesday.

Officers say that 31-year-old Travis Himes hit his wife in a car with their children inside.

The woman got away, but Himes is accused of locking himself in their home Monday with the children for a few hours. He was arrested peacefully and charged with assault and terroristic threatening.

He is due back in court on November 1.
