LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– Lexington’s two mayoral candidates squared off in a forum held at Joseph Beth bookstore Monday.

News Talk 590 WVLK hosted the event where dozens of voters came out to listen.

For two hours, candidates Ronnie Bastin and Linda Gorton discussed issues facing our city, such as affordable housing, growth, and crime.

While many people in the audience said they’ve made their choice in the upcoming election, some people say they hoped the forum would help them make a decision.

“One or the other,” said Joe Berry. “I think both of them have some favorable attributes that help our city, so it’s simply a matter of listening and trying to figure out who would be the best candidate for this city and for the communities that I live in.”

Election day is two weeks from Tuesday.
