JACKSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Officials in Jackson County rescued two suspects who ran off a cliff during a chase.

It happened around 11 p.m. Monday night.

Officials say deputies were patrolling the southern part of the county, when they saw a car weaving.

When the vehicle did not stop, authorities chased it for several miles on several different roads including HWY 421 and Adkinstown Road in McKee.

After crashing into a tree, the man driving and a woman passenger allegedly tried to run through a wooded area, but accidentally ran off a cliff.

Both were rescued and taken to UK Hospital.

The woman has serious injuries including several broken bones, but the man’s injuries are minor.

Both will face charges once they are released.
