LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– Two people are in custody after a possibly stolen car drove into a building in Lexington.

It happened after midnight Friday in the 300 block of East Fifth Street.

Police say an officer noticed a car speeding, and saw it drive down Chestnut Street going the wrong way.

Police later found the car driven through the front door of M and M Grocery.

We’re told three people were in the car; one ran away, while police arrested the other two, including the driver.

Officials say other than the damage to the door, the building is fine.

The two suspects face wanton endangerment charges because the car nearly hit a woman standing nearby.
