HARRODSBURG, Ky. (LEX 18) – The man arrested following an officer-involved shooting in Mercer County pleaded not guilty in court Monday.

Police say Harrodsburg officers were called to a home around 3 on Sunday morning. When they arrived, police say 32-year-old John Peach confronted them with a gun and shots were fired.

Peach was hurt and treated in the hospital before being arrested. The officer is on administrative leave with pay while the incident is being investigated.

Peach is charged with fourth-degree assault and attempted murder of a police officer. He’s scheduled to be back in court on Nov. 8 for a preliminary hearing.
