LARUE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– KSP said that two people were injured in a Larue County crash. One of the injured was a deputy.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Larue County Deputy Nathaniel Hall was travelling south on Bardstown Road with his emergency lights and siren activated while responding to a burglary complaint in Upton. 57-year-old Barry Rucker, of Sonora, was travelling north on Bardstown Road. As the deputy’s vehicle was in a curve, he crossed the centerline and went into the path of Rucker’s vehicle, according to KSP.

KSP said that Rucker attempted to avoid Hall’s vehicle but was unsuccessful before the two vehicles collided.

Hall was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and Rucker was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Bardstown Road was closed for approximately two hours.

The collision is still under investigation/.
