LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Logan County Sheriff’s Department says it is investigating a report that “needles” were found in Halloween candy.

In a post on the department’s Facebook page, officials said the metal pieces allegedly were found in a “fun-size” Snickers bar.

A photograph supplied by the department appears to show not needles but two thin finishing nails embedded in the candy bar.

Officials said the candy “was possibly obtained” Russellville.

The office advises parents to check any candy thoroughly before letting children eat it.
