LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Ask any Kentucky fan this morning: Yesterday afternoon was a tough one.
But it’s even worse for some who got scammed.
Outside of Kroger Field, some people never made it inside the stadium, turned away because they’d purchased fake tickets.
The University of Kentucky police chief says the department received several dozen reports of phony tickets being sold.
LEX 18 spoke to fans who said they had paid $160 to a scalper, only to find out their tickets were no good.
“It’s awful,” said UK fan Alex Orr. “Today is actually my birthday, and it’s her first UK football game ever. We were excited to come, and, um, getting robbed was rough.”
