WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)- Wolfe County Search and Rescue responded to a report of lost hikers in Red River Gorge over the weekend.
According to a post by the rescue group, the call came in around 6 p.m. Sunday evening. All the hikers could tell dispatch were that they were on started with the letter ‘O.’
Using cell phone coordinates, rescuers were able to determine that they were located in the Klaber Branch area. A hasty team was sent in and found the group sitting on a rock in the middle of Gladie Creek.
Rescuers praised the couple for calling 911 immediately once they realized they were lost and for staying put.
