MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio. (WDTN/LEX 18) — Surveillance images from a Lexington hotel show a former Ohio soccer coach who is wanted after fleeing ahead of closing arguments in a sexual misconduct trial involving a minor.

According to WDTN in Dayton, 41-year-old Justin Smith was found guilty Nov. 2 on eight counts, including unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, sexual battery and sexual imposition.

The station says Smith tampered with his ankle monitor and failed to return when closing arguments began in his case.

The images provided by the Montgomery County (Ohio) Sheriff’s Office show Smith at the front desk of The Courtyard hotel in Lexington.

The sheriff’s office said he stayed there one night.

The U.S. Marshals Service tells LEX 18 that Smith has family and friends in the Lexington area and was spotted here earlier.

Authorities ask anyone with information about Smith to call police.
