OWINGSVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) – A Bath County Sheriff’s Deputy and former state trooper is facing a sex crime charge after officials say he tried to procure a minor over an electronic communication device.
Kentucky State Police arrested Joshua Preece Thursday.
The judge-executive confirms that Preece had worked for the Bath County Sheriff’s office for several years. Kentucky State Police also confirm that Preece was a former trooper and that he resigned eight years ago.
Preece is lodged in the Rowan Co. Detention Center.
