GRAY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Kentucky State Police say a teen missing since September from Indiana was found with her father in Knox County.

Kentucky State Police were contacted by Indiana State Police requesting assistance attempting to locate a missing Indiana teen that was possibly in the area.

Officials told state police that the 15-year-old was with her father, Thomas Ray Childers. Both had been entered NCIC since Sept. 19.

Childers had lost custody of his daughter due to allegations of abuse.

Troopers were advised that the two might be at an address on Logan Hollow Road in the Gray community of Knox County.

Upon arrival,  troopers found Childers in the driveway and say he walked back inside the residence after he saw the cruiser.

The officers made entry through an unlocked door. Childers released the teen and the arrest was made without further incident.

Childers was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center on charges of Flagrant non-support and Fugitive from another state warrant required. Knox County Social Services contacted Indiana Social Services and made arrangements for the teen to be reunited with her mother who had active custody of her.
