LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) –  Extra security measures have been put into play at Lafayette High School following a hoax threat.

Lafayette’s principal sent an email to parents saying they were aware of the message but that there was no reason to believe the threat was serious.

The principal sent another message to parents this morning saying the threat was a hoax. After an investigation, it was found that the SnapChat message that was shared amongst the student body yesterday had an out of county IP address.

This is a separate incident from the hoax bomb threat that was made to look like it was from LEX 18.

Fayette County Public School Law Enforcement is involved.
