FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) – Big Eddy Road in Franklin County is closed due to an embankment slide which resulted in the damaged pavement.
According to officials, the area is prone to slides. The water rising from the Kentucky River is not the only factor in these slides but does have an impact. There have been at least five slides on that route since 2010.
Engineers are inspecting the area to determine the extent of repairs needed.
The road will not reopen until repairs are complete and a time frame has not been established yet.
