LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)- Thanks to a sponsorship provided by Kentucky Bank, God’s Pantry Food Bank is expanding the community-wide Thanksgiving distribution, Sharing Thanksgiving, beyond Fayette County.

Distributions are already underway in Fayette County.  Those will take place at Southland-Richmond Road Campus at 2349 Richmond Rd on Monday and Tuesday, November 19-20 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., 1 p.m.-3 p.m. and 4 p.m.-6 p.m.

This year more than 4,000 Fayette County families requested assistance and were selected to receive a Thanksgiving box, the expansion will provide an additional 750 boxes to be distributed in those additional counties. The Thanksgiving box includes a turkey, fresh potatoes, onions, eggs, butter, stuffing, cornbread, gravy, corn and anything else needed to create a Thanksgiving meal.

In this 25th year the program will help residents, who have been referred by community agencies, in Fayette, Laurel, Rowan and Floyd County.

God’s Pantry Food Bank purchases all of the food for this program and will continue to accept financial donations to fund the Sharing Thanksgiving distribution. A forty dollar gift ($40.00) is all it takes to sponsor a family this Thanksgiving. Donations can be made by mailing a check to: God’s Pantry Food Bank, 1685 Jaggie Fox Way, Lexington, KY 40511, or through a secure online donation at godspantry.org.
